A short documentary film about Sonia ‘Sunny’ Jacobs & Peter Pringle, two exonerees who were sentenced to death for crimes they didn’t commit, and the center they founded to help others like them. The couple, who met after their convictions were eventually overturned, now offers sanctuary and mentorship to other survivors of the broken criminal justice system. Over the several years she spent in solitary confinement, Sunny developed a spiritual practice of yoga & meditation that forms the backbone of their rehabilitative mission. Since it began, the center has impacted the lives of dozens of exonerees, helping them with the difficult transition back into society.
This film was a collaborative project with Christian Scheider & Benjamin Long, shot in May 2017 at Sunny & Peter’s home in Ireland.
